Presentation
Terraform in the Real World: Lessons from the Cloud Trenches
Provisioning cloud infrastructure can look simple right up until teams run into broken state files, sprawling modules, and environments that drift out of sync. In this practical session, Woody will move beyond Terraform hello-world examples and focus on patterns that help infrastructure code scale, last, and support real teams.
We will look at real-world Terraform techniques for modularization, state management, environment isolation, and team collaboration, with an emphasis on reliability and maintainability. Whether you’re deploying to Azure, AWS, or both, this session will cover patterns and anti-patterns drawn from production environments, along with concrete tips to help you avoid costly mistakes.
If you’ve already started using Terraform, or you’re planning to soon, this session will help you write infrastructure as code with more confidence and fewer surprises.
Speaker: Chris “Woody” Woodruff
Chris is an Architect, Microsoft MVP in .NET and Web Development, international conference speaker, mentor, and co-host of the Breakpoint Show podcast and YouTube channel.
