Presentation

Faster .NET on Azure App Service: The Hard Lessons I Paid For

Azure App Service remains one of the best platforms for deploying and scaling .NET applications. It’s fully managed, production-ready, and packed with capabilities that help teams move fast without taking on unnecessary infrastructure overhead. But getting an app deployed is not the same as getting it optimized.

In this session, Brian will deploy a .NET 10 application to Azure App Service, establish a performance baseline, and then walk through the real-world optimization techniques that matter in production. He’ll cover how to choose and configure the right App Service Plan, compare Windows and Linux hosting options, tune important settings, scale intelligently, and improve application performance without premature optimization.

You’ll also see how to identify and troubleshoot issues using Application Insights, Azure Metrics, and diagnostic logging, with practical lessons drawn from years of watching .NET applications succeed, struggle, and occasionally crash and burn in Azure.
