Join us at the Chicago Cloud Computing Meetup on Thursday, September 3, 2026, where Michael Collier will present “Building Resilient Durable Agents with Microsoft Agent Framework”. If you’re moving AI agents out of demos and into production, this session covers the durable execution patterns that keep agent workflows running when things go wrong.

Michael has been a friend of mine for many years, and I’m thrilled to have him speak at our meetup. He has a deep understanding of building scalable cloud solutions and will share his expertise on how to create resilient agent systems using Microsoft’s latest frameworks.

I just spent some time with Michael at Beer City Code in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he gave a fantastic talk on building durable agents. If you missed it, this is your chance to catch him in Chicago!

Presentation

Building Resilient Durable Agents with Microsoft Agent Framework

AI agents can reason, collaborate, and act, but what happens when an agent workflow runs for hours, encounters a failure, requires human approval, or must survive an application restart?

In this session, you’ll learn how Azure Durable Functions, Azure Durable Task Scheduler, and Microsoft Agent Framework work together to provide a resilient foundation for production-grade agent systems. Michael will begin with a brief introduction to Microsoft Agent Framework, then explore how Durable Agents and Durable Workflows apply durable execution patterns to long-running, distributed, and multi-agent applications.

Through practical demonstrations, you’ll see how to recover from failures, manage long-running workflows, and observe execution across a distributed system. The session also uses .NET Aspire and Azure Durable Task Scheduler to create a streamlined local development experience and deploy an agent solution built to run reliably at scale on Azure.

Speaker: Michael Collier
